Mataura Valley Milk Plant, CAHG’s New Zealand Southland Based Plant, Officially Opened

  On November 22nd, 2018, China Animal Husbandry Group (“CAHG”) green-field Mataura Valley Milk Limited plant (“MVM”) hosted over 400 people in Gore, Southland, New Zealand to celebrate its official opening.

  The New Zealand Minister of Agriculture Damien O’Connor, Gore District Mayor Tracy Hicks, Consul General of General Consulate of China in Christchurch WANG Zhijian, Counsellor HUANG Yuefeng from China Embassy, Director of China National Agricultural Development Group(“CNADC”) PENG Aorui, the president of CAHG and the Chairman of MVM XUE Tingwu, Vice President of CAHG and Director of MVM DING Changqin, General Counsel of CAHG and Executive Director of MVM ZHANG Deyong, General Manager of MVM Bernard May lined up with farmer shareholders, and guests to attend this ceremony.

  The investment in MVM is a key step for CAHG’s strategy in dairy sector. Opening of the world-class modern factory indicates the commencing of CAHG’s integrated production chain in dairy industry, it including from the raw milk collection, milk processing, formulation, and sales. Over 900,000 hours have been contributed in the past two year to make this happen. The plant has been designed to have the capacity of 50,000 tons product annually with product of IF base powder, whole milk powder, skim milk powder and other nutritional products. MVM lives up the value of People First, Quality and Trust and with the vision to creating tomorrow’s nutrition, provides the highest quality dairy products to the world.

  A pōwhiri (a Māori welcoming ceremony) was given by the principal Māori iwi (tribe) of the southern region of New Zealand. Mr. O'Connor officially declared the plant open. He congratulated the completion of the MVM and praised the achievements of the project construction. He said "It is a celebration of a partnership between a big country and a small country down at the bottom of the Pacific forming a partnership. Mr. PENG said that it is the beginning of the brilliant journey of MVM and hopes that the company can become a model presenting the successful cooperation between China and New Zealand and become a leading company in the industry in the near future.

  In Dr. XUE’s speech, he thanked the hard work of company's management team. He said that MVM shall drive forward with the strategy of focusing on providing nutritional products to global market and create more opportunities in the future with the support from farm suppliers, contractors, partners. Mr. WANG and Mr. HUANG highly appreciated the completion of the project and said that this is a model of the cooperation between China and New Zealand. "Mataura Valley Milks' nutritional plant represents the largest investment the Gore district has seen and it heralds in a new area of growth in the south,'' Mr. Hicks said. Mr. May said the nutrition plant was part of strategic plan to invest in the world’s most advanced production technology, people and systems to deliver a broad range of world-class nutrition.
